About Ms. Revelli

I am thrilled to be returning to Havens school and community this year, especially as a 3rd grade teacher!  We are already off to a great start and I know there is going to be a lot of learning and fun!

A little about myself...

My desire to become a teacher became very real while I was engaged in a fieldwork project I was assigned to do my senior year, at a K-8 private school for under-privileged children (Northern Light School, in Oakland), with a few of my classmates.  My assignment was left with little direction from my professor.  With my musical background, I decided to write and direct a mini musical for a K-3 group of school students. The project was very successful and well received by the school’s staff.  The experience proved to be two-fold in a very positive way.  For the children, it was an opportunity to work with a group of fun-loving college students, and for me, it was having the unique opportunity to feel good about doing something special for children that are facing many hardships on a daily basis.

I found out that my time with Northern Light School was not going to end with my final days of the project.  Soon after I had graduated, to my surprise, Northern Light’s Head of School offered me a First Grade teaching position.  Without any hesitation, I felt I couldn’t pass up this opportunity.

After a year of teaching a very special class of ten 6yr. olds, I decided that a career in teaching was a path I needed to pursue.  During my second year as a teacher at Northern Light, I began my Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential studies at Holy Names University.  Teaching full time and attending the program was a bit much, for I felt I needed more time for my studies.  Instead of having my own classroom, I worked as a fourth and fifth grade aide at Corpus Christi School in Oakland. My student teaching assignments placed me with 4th graders at Monroe Elementary School in San Leandro and then with third graders at Thornhill.

With my credential in hand, I was hired at Thornhill and began teaching fourth grade, mid-year in January of 2008.  In the Fall of that year, I joined the third grade team and taught third grade until I came to Havens in 2014!

Growing up singing in the Piedmont Children's Choir, and using the "Old Havens" site for many rehearsals, I have always had fond memories and a strong connection with this community, and can't believe that I am actually teaching here!  I have been loving third grade so far and everyone here at this school and I have so many things to look forward to!

When not at Havens you can find me either at an A's game, swimming, exploring trails with my Springer Spaniel, Sadie, or sharing & performing music with my Quartet buddies and performing with various orchestras and music groups.
